Ocean Policy Commission

The U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy was established by the Oceans Act of 2000 (P.L 106-256) and mandated to establish findings and develop recommendations for a new and comprehensive national ocean policy.
On September 20, 2004, the Commission submitted its Final Report to the President and Congress.
On December 19, 2004, the Commission officially expired, as called for under the, Oceans Act of 2000 (P.L. 106-256).
