National Commission on Manufactured Housing

The National Commission on Manufactured Housing was established on November 28, 1990 as an independent commission pursuant to Section 943 of the Cranston-Gonzales National Affordable Housing Act of 1990 (Pub. L. 101-625).

The Commission was created to develop recommendations for modernizing the National Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974. It assessed the effectiveness of the Act and developed an action plan containing specific recommendations for legislative and regulatory revision to the present law.

The Commission was terminated upon the submission of its final report.
