{"abstract":"NMFS has completed a comprehensive status review of the white abalone (Haliotis sorenseni) under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Based on the findings from the status review and a review of the factors affecting the species, NMFS has concluded that white abalone is in danger of extinction throughout a significant portion of its range. Accordingly, NMFS is now issuing a proposed rule to list white abalone as an endangered species.
