{"abstract":"The Board invites public comment on a proposal to amend its Regulation Y to change the conditions that govern the conduct of financial data processing activities previously found to be closely related to banking in order to permit all bank holding companies to conduct a greater amount of nonfinancial data processing in connection with processing financial data, and to allow financial holding companies, as an activity that is complementary to financial activities, to own companies engaged in certain types of data storage, Internet and portal hosting activities, and broad advisory activities involving data processing activities, so long as the companies also provide financial data processing or other financial products and services.
