{"abstract":"The Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES) announces the availability of grant funds and requests proposals for the Integrated Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program--Pest Management for fiscal year (FY) 2000 to support integrated, multifunctional agricultural research, extension, and education activities that address pest management priorities in United States agriculture, particularly those priorities addressing anticipated regulatory losses of key pest management tools resulting from the implementation of the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) of 1996. The Integrated Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program--Pest Management will have four program components: Crops at Risk from FQPA Implementation (CAR); FQPA Risk Avoidance and Mitigation for Major Food Crop Systems (RAMP); Methyl Bromide Transitions (MBT); and Pest Management Centers. The amount available for support of this program in FY 2000 is approximately $11,000,000. This notice sets out the objectives for these projects, the eligibility criteria for projects and applicants, the application procedures, and the set of instructions needed to apply for a Pest Management grant under this authority.
