{"abstract":"This rule implements the changes that the Legal Immigration Family Equity Act (LIFE Act) and the LIFE Act Amendments made to section 202 of the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) and section 902 of the Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act of 1998 (HRIFA). The LIFE Act and its Amendments provide that eligible aliens who are nationals of Nicaragua, Cuba, or Haiti may apply for adjustment of status to that of lawful permanent resident under NACARA or HRIFA without being subject to certain barriers that existed prior to the enactment of the LIFE Act and its amendments.
