{"abstract":"HUD currently has statutory authority to set the mortgage insurance premiums (\"MIP\") for multifamily programs from one-fourth to one percent of the outstanding principal balance per annum. However, HUD's current regulations currently set the MIP at a specific figure, one-half of one percent in most programs.
