{"abstract":"The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is amending its regulations to allow licensing for the interim storage of Greater than Class C (GTCC) waste in a manner that is consistent with current licensing for the interim storage of spent fuel and will maintain Federal jurisdiction for storage of reactor-related GTCC waste. The final rule will only apply to the interim storage of GTCC waste generated or used by commercial nuclear power plants.
