{"abstract":"The U.S. Parole Commission is amending a number of procedural rules to reflect changes in the structure of the Commission, and the transfer of District of Columbia felony offenders to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons. In addition to eliminating obsolete procedural rules, the Commission is simplifying a rule on the timing of interim hearings for Federal offenders and providing consistent instructions regarding the determination of a revocation hearing location for alleged parole and supervised release violators. Finally, the Commission is making a number of corrections and editorial changes, primarily amendments to the citations to the District of Columbia Code made necessary as a result of a recodification of D.C. criminal laws.","action":"Final rule.","agencies":[{"raw_name":"DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE","name":"Justice Department","id":268,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/justice-department","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/268","parent_id":null,"slug":"justice-department"},{"raw_name":"Parole Commission","name":"Parole Commission","id":401,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/parole-commission","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/401","parent_id":268,"slug":"parole-commission"}],"body_html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/html/2003/07/14/03-17175.html","cfr_references":[{"chapter":null,"citation_url":null,"part":2,"title":28}],"citation":"68 FR 41527","comment_url":null,"comments_close_on":null,"correction_of":null,"corrections":[],"dates":"Effective Date: August 13, 2003.","disposition_notes":null,"docket_ids":[],"dockets":[],"document_number":"03-17175","effective_on":"2003-08-13","end_page":41531,"executive_order_notes":null,"executive_order_number":null,"full_text_xml_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/xml/2003/07/14/03-17175.xml","html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2003/07/14/03-17175/paroling-recommitting-and-supervising-federal-prisoners-prisoners-serving-sentences-under-the-united","images":{},"images_metadata":{},"json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/documents/03-17175?publication_date=2003-07-14","mods_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/metadata/granule/FR-2003-07-14/03-17175/mods.xml","not_received_for_publication":null,"page_length":5,"page_views":{"count":80,"last_updated":"2026-07-25 22:15:03 -0400"},"pdf_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2003-07-14/pdf/03-17175.pdf","presidential_document_number":null,"proclamation_number":null,"public_inspection_pdf_url":null,"publication_date":"2003-07-14","raw_text_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/text/2003/07/14/03-17175.txt","regulation_id_number_info":{},"regulation_id_numbers":[],"regulations_dot_gov_info":{},"regulations_dot_gov_url":null,"significant":null,"signing_date":null,"start_page":41527,"subtype":null,"title":"Paroling, Recommitting, and Supervising Federal Prisoners: Prisoners Serving Sentences Under the United States and District of Columbia Codes","toc_doc":"Miscellaneous amendments","toc_subject":"Federal prisoners; paroling and releasing, etc.:","topics":["Administrative practice and procedure","Prisoners","Probation and parole"],"type":"Rule","volume":68}
