{"abstract":"On behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is coordinating performance tests, supporting the ANSI N42.32, N42.33, N42.34 and N42.35 standards, of commercially available equipment for the DHS by various National laboratories. The tests are designed to determine the effectiveness of radiation detection instruments that may be used by first responders in a radiological incident. The participating National laboratories are: Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).","action":"Notice.","agencies":[{"raw_name":"DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE","name":"Commerce Department","id":54,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/commerce-department","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/54","parent_id":null,"slug":"commerce-department"},{"raw_name":"National Institute of Standards and Technology","name":"National Institute of Standards and Technology","id":352,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/national-institute-of-standards-and-technology","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/352","parent_id":54,"slug":"national-institute-of-standards-and-technology"}],"body_html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/html/2005/01/14/05-835.html","cfr_references":[],"citation":"70 FR 2612","comment_url":null,"comments_close_on":"2005-02-14","correction_of":null,"corrections":[],"dates":"Manufacturers who wish to participate in the program must submit an executed Letter of Understanding by February 14, 2005, 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.","disposition_notes":null,"docket_ids":["Docket No.: 041119323-4323-01"],"dockets":[],"document_number":"05-835","effective_on":null,"end_page":2614,"executive_order_notes":null,"executive_order_number":null,"explanation":null,"full_text_xml_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/xml/2005/01/14/05-835.xml","html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2005/01/14/05-835/radiation-detection-instrument-evaluations","images":{},"images_metadata":{},"json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/documents/05-835?publication_date=2005-01-14","mods_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/metadata/granule/FR-2005-01-14/05-835/mods.xml","not_received_for_publication":null,"page_length":3,"page_views":{"count":22,"last_updated":"2026-04-04 02:15:03 -0400"},"pdf_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2005-01-14/pdf/05-835.pdf","presidential_document_number":null,"proclamation_number":null,"public_inspection_pdf_url":null,"publication_date":"2005-01-14","raw_text_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/text/2005/01/14/05-835.txt","regulation_id_number_info":{},"regulation_id_numbers":[],"regulations_dot_gov_info":{"checked_regulationsdotgov_at":"2011-11-12T14:34:59Z"},"regulations_dot_gov_url":null,"significant":null,"signing_date":null,"start_page":2612,"subtype":null,"title":"Radiation Detection Instrument Evaluations","toc_doc":"Radiation detection instrument evaluations","toc_subject":"Reports and guidance documents; availability, etc.:","topics":[],"type":"Notice","volume":70}
