{"abstract":"The FDIC is amending its regulations to reflect the recent merger of the Bank Insurance Fund and the Savings Association Insurance Fund, forming the Deposit Insurance Fund. The merger of the two deposit insurance funds was required by the Federal Deposit Insurance Reform Act of 2005 and was effectuated by the FDIC as of March 31, 2006.
