{"abstract":"The United States International Trade Commission (Commission) is adopting interim rules that amend the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure to make technical amendments and to provide rules for the conduct of safeguard investigations under statutory provisions that implement bilateral safeguard provisions in free trade agreements that the United States has negotiated with Australia, Bahrain, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and five Central American countries (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua), Jordan, Korea, Morocco, Oman, Panama, Peru, and Singapore. With the exception of the free trade agreements with Colombia, Korea, and Panama, all of the aforementioned free trade agreements have entered into force. The free trade agreements with Colombia, Korea, and Panama are expected to enter into force imminently. The interim rules would amend and expand upon current rules that pertain to the conduct of bilateral safeguard investigations under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Implementation Act with respect to imports from Canada and Mexico.","action":"Interim rule with request for comments.","agencies":[{"raw_name":"INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMISSION","name":"International Trade Commission","id":262,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/international-trade-commission","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/262","parent_id":null,"slug":"international-trade-commission"}],"body_html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/html/2012/01/26/2012-1500.html","cfr_references":[{"chapter":null,"citation_url":null,"part":206,"title":19}],"citation":"77 FR 3922","comment_url":null,"comments_close_on":null,"correction_of":null,"corrections":[],"dates":"Effective date: January 26, 2012.","disposition_notes":null,"docket_ids":[],"dockets":[],"document_number":"2012-1500","effective_on":"2012-01-26","end_page":3927,"executive_order_notes":null,"executive_order_number":null,"full_text_xml_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/xml/2012/01/26/2012-1500.xml","html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2012/01/26/2012-1500/rules-for-investigations-relating-to-global-and-bilateral-safeguards-actions-market-disruption-trade","images":{},"images_metadata":{},"json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/documents/2012-1500?publication_date=2012-01-26","mods_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/metadata/granule/FR-2012-01-26/2012-1500/mods.xml","not_received_for_publication":null,"page_length":6,"page_views":{"count":243,"last_updated":"2026-07-27 22:15:03 -0400"},"pdf_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2012-01-26/pdf/2012-1500.pdf","presidential_document_number":null,"proclamation_number":null,"public_inspection_pdf_url":"https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2012-01500.pdf?1327499463","publication_date":"2012-01-26","raw_text_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/text/2012/01/26/2012-1500.txt","regulation_id_number_info":{},"regulation_id_numbers":[],"regulations_dot_gov_info":{"checked_regulationsdotgov_at":"2012-04-13T23:42:34Z"},"regulations_dot_gov_url":null,"significant":null,"signing_date":null,"start_page":3922,"subtype":null,"title":"Rules for Investigations Relating to Global and Bilateral Safeguards Actions, Market Disruption, Trade Diversion, and Review of Relief Actions","toc_doc":"Investigations Relating to Global and Bilateral Safeguards Actions, Market Disruption, etc.","toc_subject":null,"topics":["Administrative practice and procedure","Australia","Business and industry","Canada","Chile","Imports","Investigations","Jordan","Mexico","Nicaragua","Trade agreements"],"type":"Rule","volume":77}
