{"abstract":"The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)/National Toxicology Program (NTP) is interested in the identification and prioritization of a comprehensive list of environmentally responsive genes that might be targets for screening cells or tissues obtained from humans, rats, mice, zebrafish, and Caenorhabditis elegans against large numbers of substances. The goal is to generate a minimum list of 1000 genes for each species that would provide the maximal toxicogenomic information on (1) effects that reflect general cellular responses, independent of cell type or species, and (2) gene expression changes that are specific by organ and/or cell type. The NIEHS/NTP also seeks recommendations on criteria to use for prioritizing the genes in order to identify those potentially most useful in a screening paradigm. Such a list of environmentally responsive genes may be useful also in biomarker development and basic research efforts.","action":null,"agencies":[{"raw_name":"DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES","name":"Health and Human Services Department","id":221,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/health-and-human-services-department","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/221","parent_id":null,"slug":"health-and-human-services-department"},{"raw_name":"National Institutes of Health","name":"National Institutes of Health","id":353,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/national-institutes-of-health","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/353","parent_id":221,"slug":"national-institutes-of-health"}],"body_html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/html/2013/07/29/2013-18058.html","cfr_references":[],"citation":"78 FR 45542","comment_url":null,"comments_close_on":null,"correction_of":null,"corrections":[],"dates":"The deadline for receipt of information is August 23, 2013.","disposition_notes":null,"docket_ids":[],"dockets":[],"document_number":"2013-18058","effective_on":null,"end_page":45543,"executive_order_notes":null,"executive_order_number":null,"full_text_xml_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/xml/2013/07/29/2013-18058.xml","html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2013/07/29/2013-18058/request-for-information-the-national-institute-of-environmental-health-sciencesnational-toxicology","images":{},"images_metadata":{},"json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/documents/2013-18058?publication_date=2013-07-29","mods_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/metadata/granule/FR-2013-07-29/2013-18058/mods.xml","not_received_for_publication":null,"page_length":2,"page_views":{"count":90,"last_updated":"2026-07-28 12:15:07 -0400"},"pdf_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2013-07-29/pdf/2013-18058.pdf","presidential_document_number":null,"proclamation_number":null,"public_inspection_pdf_url":"https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2013-18058.pdf?1374843046","publication_date":"2013-07-29","raw_text_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/text/2013/07/29/2013-18058.txt","regulation_id_number_info":{},"regulation_id_numbers":[],"regulations_dot_gov_info":{"supporting_documents":[],"comments_url":"https://www.regulations.gov/docketBrowser?rpp=50&so=DESC&sb=postedDate&po=0&dct=PS&D=NIH_FRDOC_0001","supporting_documents_count":0,"docket_id":"NIH_FRDOC_0001","regulation_id_number":null,"title":"Recently Posted NIH Rules and Notices.","checked_regulationsdotgov_at":"2013-08-18T06:00:13Z"},"regulations_dot_gov_url":null,"significant":null,"signing_date":null,"start_page":45542,"subtype":null,"title":"Request for Information: The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences/National Toxicology Program Requests the Nomination and Prioritization of Environmentally Responsive Genes for Use in Screening Large Numbers of Substances Using Toxicogenomic Technologies","toc_doc":"National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences/National Toxicology Program","toc_subject":"Requests for Information:","topics":[],"type":"Notice","volume":78}
