{"abstract":"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or we) is extending the comment period for the notice that appeared in the Federal Register of November 8, 2013 (78 FR 67169). In the notice, we requested comments on our tentative determination that partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs) are not generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for any use in food based on current scientific evidence, and therefore are subject to regulation as food additives.
