{"abstract":"The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)/National Toxicology Program (NTP) requests comments on a set of human genes that have been identified and prioritized as environmentally responsive genes. These genes will be used in toxicogenomics approaches to screen cells or tissues obtained from humans against large numbers of chemicals. The goal was to generate a set of approximately 1500 human genes to evaluate transcriptional changes in response to chemical exposures. Similar gene sets will be developed for screening cells or tissues from other species such as rats, mice, zebrafish, and Caenorhabditis elegans. The human gene set should provide maximal toxicogenomic information on effects from chemical exposures that reflect general cellular responses, independent of cell type or species, and gene expression changes that are specific by organ and/or cell type. Such a list of environmentally responsive genes may also be useful in biomarker development and basic research efforts. This list of genes, referred to as the \"S1500\" gene list, or gene set, is available for public comment.","action":null,"agencies":[{"raw_name":"DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES","name":"Health and Human Services Department","id":221,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/health-and-human-services-department","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/221","parent_id":null,"slug":"health-and-human-services-department"},{"raw_name":"National Institutes of Health","name":"National Institutes of Health","id":353,"url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/agencies/national-institutes-of-health","json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/agencies/353","parent_id":221,"slug":"national-institutes-of-health"}],"body_html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/html/2015/04/15/2015-08529.html","cfr_references":[],"citation":"80 FR 20237","comment_url":null,"comments_close_on":"2015-05-15","correction_of":null,"corrections":[],"dates":"The deadline for receipt of comments is May 15, 2015.","disposition_notes":null,"docket_ids":[],"dockets":[],"document_number":"2015-08529","effective_on":null,"end_page":20238,"executive_order_notes":null,"executive_order_number":null,"full_text_xml_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/xml/2015/04/15/2015-08529.xml","html_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2015/04/15/2015-08529/list-of-environmentally-responsive-human-genes-selected-for-use-in-screening-large-numbers-of","images":{},"images_metadata":{},"json_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/api/v1/documents/2015-08529?publication_date=2015-04-15","mods_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/metadata/granule/FR-2015-04-15/2015-08529/mods.xml","not_received_for_publication":null,"page_length":2,"page_views":{"count":504,"last_updated":"2026-06-24 14:15:04 -0400"},"pdf_url":"https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2015-04-15/pdf/2015-08529.pdf","presidential_document_number":null,"proclamation_number":null,"public_inspection_pdf_url":"https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2015-08529.pdf?1429015520","publication_date":"2015-04-15","raw_text_url":"https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/full_text/text/2015/04/15/2015-08529.txt","regulation_id_number_info":{},"regulation_id_numbers":[],"regulations_dot_gov_info":{"checked_regulationsdotgov_at":"2023-03-01T01:12:34Z"},"regulations_dot_gov_url":null,"significant":null,"signing_date":null,"start_page":20237,"subtype":null,"title":"List of Environmentally Responsive Human Genes Selected for Use In Screening Large Numbers of Substances Using Toxicogenomic Approaches","toc_doc":"List of Environmentally Responsive Human Genes Selected for Use in Screening Large Numbers of Substances Using Toxicogenomic Approaches","toc_subject":null,"topics":[],"type":"Notice","volume":80}
