{"abstract":"In Presidential Proclamation 10984 of October 17, 2025 (Adjusting Imports of Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles, Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Parts, and Buses Into the United States), the President imposed additional tariffs on imports of specified medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs), medium- and heavy-duty vehicles parts (MHDVPs), and buses to eliminate the threat to national security posed by such imports. That Proclamation also authorized the Secretary of Commerce to reduce tariffs owed under Proclamation 9704 of March 8, 2018 (Adjusting Imports of Aluminum Into the United States) as amended, and Proclamation 9705 of March 8, 2018 (Adjusting Imports of Steel Into the United States) as amended, for certain steel and aluminum producers operating production facilities in Canada or Mexico, based on newly committed U.S. production capacity.
