{"abstract":"On May 30, 2025, NHTSA published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) proposing to remove obsolete requirements from Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 214, \"Side Impact Protection.\" The agency received two comments that supported the changes to FMVSS No. 214. In addition, one of the commenters suggested amendments to remove additional obsolete regulatory text. NHTSA is adopting the proposed changes with amendments made in response to the comments.
