{"abstract":"This document amends Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) adjudication regulations to: Allow the election of death pension by surviving spouses in receipt of dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC); eliminate the requirement to pay certain benefits in Philippine pesos; revise the treatment of certain claims after a renouncement of benefits; and exclude from countable income in the pension and parents' DIC programs certain income of Alaska natives. These changes are needed to implement recently enacted legislation.
