{"abstract":"The General Accounting Office (GAO) is amending its Bid Protest Regulations after receiving and considering the comments on the advance notice of proposed rulemaking published on February 21, 1996, and the proposed rule published on May 1, 1996. The final rule implements the requirement in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 that GAO, for new protests filed on or after August 8, 1996, issue bid protest decisions within 100 calendar days from the time a protest is filed at GAO.
