{"abstract":"The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (``CFTC'' or ``Commission'') is proposing to amend its Rule 1.10(d)(4), which requires that each Form 1-FR filed with the Commission contain an oath or affirmation attesting that, to the best knowledge and belief of the individual making such oath or affirmation, the information contained therein is true and correct. The proposed rule amendment would provide that, for the purposes of making this attestation when filing a financial report with the Commission electronically, the use of a personal identification number (``PIN'') would be deemed to be the equivalent of a manual signature.<SUP>1 The proposal also would amend Rule 1.10(c) to account for the possibility that registrants may choose to file certain financial reports electronically using a Commission issued PIN rather than filing such reports in paper form with the regional office of the Commission nearest the principal place of business of the registrant.
