{"abstract":"The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) is amending its regulations by adding a new part on electric system operations and maintenance. This action codifies and clarifies RUS policy relating to the operations and maintenance of electric systems by RUS electric borrowers. This rule also contains provisions relating to the review and evaluation of borrowers' electric systems and facilities operations and maintenance practices. These policies are presently contained in RUS Bulletin 161-5, which will be rescinded when the final rule becomes effective.
