{"abstract":"The Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA or the Act) authorizes the Department of Energy (DOE) to establish energy conservation standards for various consumer products and commercial and industrial equipment--including residential dishwashers, dehumidifiers, and electric and gas kitchen ranges and ovens and microwave ovens (hereafter referred to as \"cooking products\"), as well as commercial clothes washers--if DOE determines that energy conservation standards would be technologically feasible and economically justified, and would result in significant energy savings.
