The Department of the Treasury, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Public Law 104-13 (44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)). Currently, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau within the Department of the Treasury is soliciting comments concerning the Recordkeeping Requirements for Importers of Tobacco Products.
Written comments should be received on or before August 11, 2003 to be assured of consideration.

Title: Recordkeeping Requirements for Importers of Tobacco Products.
OMB Number: 1513-0106.
Abstract: Importers of tobacco products are required to maintain records of physical receipts and disposition of tobacco products to be able to prepare TTB F 5220.6, Importers Monthly Report. The records will be maintained to allow TTB officers to trace tobacco product transactions and determine that tax liabilities have been accurately determined and discharged by the importers. The record retention requirement for this information collection 3 years. There is no estimated time required of the respondent as these recordkeeping requirements involve usual and customary business records.
Current Actions: There are no changes to this information collection and it is being submitted for extension purposes only.
