The Committee was established to provide advice to the Secretary on Federal, State and local programs designated to create safe and drug-free schools, and on issues related to crisis planning. The focus for this meeting is the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities State Grants Programs, a formula grant program. The agenda will include panel presentations by invited speakers offering an overview of the program and looking at opportunities to strengthen and improve it in order to ensure that schools and communities are implementing the most effective programs and interventions, and are prepared to meet current and future needs of students.
