The Department of Labor (DOL) hereby announces the submission of the Start Printed Page 13782following public information collection request (ICR) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Pub. L. 104-13, 44 U.S.C. chapter 35).   • Evaluate whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information will have practical utility;
  • Evaluate the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed collection of information, including the validity of the methodology and assumptions used;
  • Enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and
  • Minimize the burden of the collection of information on those who are to respond, including through the use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques or other forms of information technology, e.g., permitting electronic submission of responses.

Description: The Trade Act Participant Report is a data collection and reporting system that supplies critical information on the operation of the Trade Adjustment Assistance program and the outcomes for its participants. This ICR requests OMB approval to extend the existing reporting and recordkeeping requirements for the Trade Adjustment Assistance program, a single integrated collection format that meets all reporting requirements listed in amendments to the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2311) through the Trade and Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act of 2009, which is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
