SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The BIA is canceling work on the EIS because the Department of the Interior has denied the application to take the land into trust pursuant to a negative Indian lands determination and there is no longer an application pending with the BIA. A public scoping meeting was held on March 31, 2005, and public hearings were held on August 12, 2009, and September 17, 2009; the meeting and hearings were held in Richmond, California. The Notice of Availability of the Draft EIS was published in the Federal Register on July 10, 2009 (74 FR 33236).
