What happens if the Government shuts down?

We know agencies have questions about our procedures and publication schedule if there is a government shutdown. We published a Federal Register notice, outlining those procedures on December 8, 2017(82 FR 58028). Here is a link to that document: https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2017-12-08/pdf/2017-26280.pdf. We have just issued a Federal Register Bulletin with a template request letter for publishing documents during a shutdown, available on www.archives.gov, at: https://www.archives.gov/federal-register/write/newsletter.

For more detailed information about what will and will not publish during a shutdown, please refer to our earlier post.
