Reader Aids

Reader Aids help people use FederalRegister.gov and understand the federal rulemaking process. Reader Aids information is not published in the Federal Register.

Saving Documents for Later

FederalRegister.gov allows users to save documents for later use via a MyFR feature named ‘clippings’. Documents can be clipped from either the document’s page or from search results. To clip an item look for the flag icon. A simple click on the flag icon with add the document to your clipboard.

A MyFR account is not required to use the clippings feature. If you do not have an account or are not signed in we save the clipping in the browser you are using. We encourage you to create a MyFR account however as this allows permanent storage of clippings that can be accessed from any browser that you are signed in from. Additionally a MyFR account allows you to organize your clippings into folders, etc.

We also have a video that is a bit older but will still show you how clippings work – you can find that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9g-Af5SKNM
