Commission on Protecting and Reducing Government Secrecy

The Commission on Protecting and Reducing Government Secrecy was established under Title IX of the Act of April 30, 1994 (Pub.L. 103-236.

The purpose of the Commission was to review and provide comprehensive recommendations for reform designed to reduce the volume of classified information to strengthen the protection of legitimate classified information.

The Commission was terminated in 1997 following the submission of its final report to Congress.
