National Bankruptcy Review Commission

The National Bankruptcy Review Commission NBRC was established as an independent commission on October 6, 1995 under the authority of the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1994, (Pub. L. No. 103-394).

The Commission was created to investigate and study issues relating to the Bankruptcy Code; to solicit divergent views of parties concerned with the operation of the bankruptcy system; to evaluate the advisability of proposals with respect to such issues; and to prepare a report to be submitted to the President, Congress and the Chief Justice.

Pursuant to the Act, the Commission was terminated on November 20 1997 following the submission of its final report.
