In order to permit the FY 2002 MEP Consortium Incentive Grants to be awarded without delay once the FY 2002 funds become available in early July, 2002, the Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental and Interagency Affairs has waived the 60-day period for intergovernmental review required under E.O. 12372. Instead, the intergovernmental review period for these grant applications will be 30 days. In this way, the deadline for intergovernmental review under E.O. 12372 for the MEP Consortium Incentive grants will be July 3, 2002, rather than August 2, 2002 as previously announced in the notice inviting applications for new awards published in the Federal Register on April 26, 2002 (67 FR 20756).
