The SMP introduces some new strategies regarding the management and permitting of shoreline activities and facilities, but is based on management practices established over the years. The SMP designates multiple classifications of the shoreline and specifies what shoreline facilities and activities will be allowed in each of the classifications to help manage non-project uses of shoreline lands within the project boundary.
