The Department of the Treasury, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Start Printed Page 15435Public Law 104-13 (44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)). Currently, the IRS is soliciting comments concerning an existing final regulation, IA-30-95 (TD 8672), Reporting of Nonpayroll Withheld Tax Liabilities (§ 31.6011(a)-4).
Written comments should be received on or before May 24, 2004, to be assured of consideration.

Title: Reporting of Nonpayroll Withheld Tax Liabilities.

Abstract: This regulation relates to the reporting of nonpayroll withheld income taxes under section 6011 of the Internal Revenue Code. The regulations require a person to file Form 945, Annual Return of Withheld Federal Income Tax, only for a calendar year in which the person is required to withhold Federal income tax from nonpayroll payments.
Current Actions: There is no change to this existing regulation.
Type of Review: Extension of a currently approved collection.
Affected Public: Individuals or households, business or other for-profit organizations, not-for-profit institutions, farms, and Federal, State, local or tribal governments.
The burden for the collection of information is reflected in the burden for Form 945, Annual Return of Withheld Federal Income Tax.
