The Department of Labor, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a preclearance consultation program to provide the general public and Federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) [44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)]. This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Section 203(b)(1) of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA), 29 U.S.C. 1801, et seq., and Regulation 29 CFR 500.135(b) provide that any person who owns or controls a facility or real property to be used for housing migrant agricultural workers shall not permit such housing to be occupied by any worker unless a copy of the certificate of occupancy from the state, local, or federal agency that conducted the housing safety and health inspection is posted at the site of the facility or real property. This information collection is currently approved for use through June 30, 2005.
