Title of Proposal: Management Official Interlocks.

Description: The purpose of the Depository Institution Management Interlocks Act is to foster competition by generally prohibiting a management official from serving two unaffiliated depository organizations in situations where the management interlock would likely have an anticompetitive effect. 12 U.S.C. 3201-3208. This applies to service as a management official of an institution, savings and loan association, and affiliates of either.
OTS regulations set forth several interlocking relationships that are prohibited. 12 CFR part 563f. Generally, a management official of a depository institution or depository holding company may not serve as a management official of an unaffiliated depository institution or depository holding company if the entities in question (or a depository institution affiliate thereof) have offices in the same community or metropolitan statistical area or are of a certain asset size.
