Proposed rule; reopening of public comment period and notice of public hearings.
We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), recently published a proposed listing for 21 plant and animal species from the Mariana Islands (U.S. Territory of Guam and the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands) as endangered species and 2 plant species from the Mariana Islands as threatened species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act), and announced a 60-day public comment period on the proposed actions, ending December 1, 2014. We now reopen the public comment period for an additional 30 days, and announce two public hearings and four public information meetings on our proposed rule. We are taking these actions to allow all interested parties additional time and opportunity to comment on the proposed rule.
Written Comments: We will consider comments received or postmarked on or before February 11, 2015, or provided at the public hearings. Please note comments submitted electronically using the Federal eRulemaking Portal (see ADDRESSES) must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the closing date. Any comments that we receive after the closing date may not be considered in the final decision on the proposed rule.

We are reopening the public comment period for 30 days on our proposed rule to list 23 Mariana Islands species that was published in the Federal Register on October 1, 2014 (79 FR 59364), to allow all interested parties additional time to comment on the proposed rule. We will accept written comments and information until the date specified in the DATES section, above, or at the public hearings. We will consider all information and recommendations from all interested parties.
