Petition for Exemption

Petitioner: Fusion Flight, LLC.

Description of Relief Sought: Fusion Flight requests an exemption to operate an unmanned and autonomous aircraft that ascends, powered by a jet engine, on a ballistic trajectory up to 16.2 km (53,150 ft) AGL and descends, once its fuel is consumed, under parachute. The petitioner's purpose is to investigate the feasibility of constructing a launch vehicle with a jet-engine powered first stage, which if possible, has the potential to greatly reduce the cost of sending payloads into space.End Further Info End Preamble
